FreeGuide from my YouTube video

Three ways to make motion graphics with Claude.

Show Claude a screen recording, a few screenshots or a video you love. It writes the animation in code and gives you an MP4. Set it up once in six steps, then pick a way.

Setup

Set it up once.

Six steps. You need a paid Claude plan and a Mac or Windows computer. Everything else is free.

  1. Get a paid Claude plan.

Pro or higher, at claude.ai. Claude Code comes with the paid plans; the free plan doesn't include it.

    See the plans
  2. Install the Claude app.

Download it for Mac or Windows, open it and sign in. Then click Code, not Chat: Code is where Claude works in a folder on your computer.

    Download the Claude app
  3. Install Node.js.

Go to nodejs.org, download the LTS version and click through the installer like any app. Remotion, the free video engine Claude uses, runs on it.

Then quit the Claude app and open it again, so it finds Node.js.

    Get Node.js
  4. Make a folder and open it in Claude.

Create an empty folder, for example my-video. In the Code tab, click the folder button by the message box and choose it. Everything Claude makes goes in there.

  5. Create the video project.

Type this into the message box and send it. Claude creates a new Remotion project in your folder.

    Command
    npx create-video@latest

Next come the AI skills, which teach Claude how to make videos with Remotion. If Claude asks whether to install them, say yes. If it doesn't ask, send this:

    If it didn't ask
    add ai skills

When Claude asks to run a command, read it and allow it.

  6. Describe your video, then say “render it”.

    Example
Make a 10-second intro with my channel name bouncing in.

Change anything in plain words until you like it. Then ask Claude to render it, and you get an MP4.

Golden tip

End every prompt with this line.

Ask me as many questions as you need to deliver the best result.

Claude asks about the length, size, colours, fonts and words before it starts, so the first version is already close to what you pictured.

Three ways

Show Claude what you want.

Pick the one that fits what you have. These are the prompts from my video: copy one and change the parts in [brackets] to yours.

Way 1 · Screen recording

Record your screen.

Record your app, your website or a product walkthrough. Claude keeps the same design and turns it into a motion graphic, with zooms and titles where they matter.

How to give it to ClaudeDrag the recording into the message box, then paste the prompt.

Claude doesn't watch a video the way you do: it looks at still frames from it. Keep the recording short, and slow down on the parts that matter.

Prompt
Attached is a quick screen recording of [what you recorded]. I want this turned into a cool motion graphic.
Use the same design but animate it using Remotion with advanced effects.
Ask me as many questions as you need to nail a really cool motion animation.

Way 2 · Screenshots and pictures

Show it a picture.

Screenshots of your app, product photos, a style you like, even a sketch on paper. Claude builds the animation around them.

How to give it to ClaudeDrag the screenshots into the message box, then paste the prompt.

Use full-size screenshots: small ones look soft when the video zooms in.

Prompt
I want you to create a vertical promotional video for an app called [your app's name], to upload to [the App Store].
I have attached [5] screenshots from the app. Use advanced and professional motion graphics, effects and animations with text and titles in this promotional video.
Ask me as many questions as you need to create a cool and professional motion animation.

Way 3 · A sample video

Borrow a style you love.

Found a video with great motion? Give it to Claude with your own topic, screenshots or product. It studies the timing, the transitions and how the text moves, then makes something new in that style.

How to give it to ClaudeDrag the sample video and your screenshots into the message box, then paste the prompt.

Borrow the motion, not the content: use your own words, pictures and logo.

Prompt
This video contains amazing animation and motion design. I'd like a video like this for [your product].
The final output should be [20 seconds] and [16:9] aspect ratio. I'm also attaching some screenshots of [your product].
[your website]
Ask me as many questions as you need in order to get this right.
Tips

Where beginners get stuck.

Restart after Node.js

Quit the Claude app and open it again after you install Node.js. Until then, Claude can't find it.

On Windows, add Git

Install Git for Windows from git-scm.com. Claude Code works better with it.

Allow the commands

Claude asks before it runs a command. Read it and allow it: that's how it installs Remotion and renders your video.

Change it in plain words

Not right yet? Say what to change: slower, bigger text, your brand colour. You never have to touch the code.

Free PDF

Make it look finished.

My Motion-Graphics Starter Kit has the Pro Prompts that make any graphic look polished, and the export commands for a transparent .mov, an MP4 or a PNG sequence, for Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci or CapCut.

Edit in Premiere Pro?

Titles like these can come with the edit.

Radbin for Premiere is my panel for Premiere Pro. Press AI Edit and Claude cuts your retakes and long pauses, lays out your camera and screen, adds zooms, and puts animated titles on the words they belong to. Your original stays as it was.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need to know how to code?
No. Claude writes the code. You say what you want, and what to change, in plain words.
Does the free Claude plan work?
No. Claude Code comes with the paid plans: Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.
Which model should I use?
Opus 5.5. It's the default in Claude Code on every paid plan, so there's nothing to change.
What does it cost?
Only your Claude plan. Node.js is free, and Remotion is free for individuals and companies of up to three people; bigger companies need a Remotion company licence.
Mac or Windows?
Both. The Claude app runs on Mac and Windows.
Where does my video go?
Into the folder you picked. When you say “render it”, Claude saves an MP4 there, usually in a folder called out.
Can I use it in Premiere, Final Cut or CapCut?
Yes. An MP4 opens in any editor. For titles over your footage, ask Claude for a transparent .mov; the free kit has the exact commands.
